Clear is a trusted traveler program that allows members to bypass long security lines at airports and stadiums using biometric identification. However, if you no longer need the service or are dissatisfied with it, you may want to cancel your Clear membership. This blog post will guide you through the process of canceling your Clear membership and obtaining a refund if applicable.

Canceling Your Clear Membership

To cancel your Clear membership, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Clear account: Visit the Clear website and log in to your account using your credentials.
  2. Navigate to the Membership Details section: Once logged in, find the “Membership Details” or “Account Settings” section.
  3. Click the “Cancel” button: Look for a button labeled “Cancel” or “Cancel Subscription” next to your active membership.
  4. Follow the prompts: Clear will guide you through the remaining steps to confirm the cancellation of your membership.

If you prefer to cancel your membership over the phone or via chat, you can:

  • Call Clear customer support at 855-253-2763. This is the most popular number, and you can speak directly with a representative.
  • Chat with the Digital Ambassador, Clara, by selecting the “Chat with us” option on the Clear website.

Requesting a Refund

Clear’s refund policy allows for a full refund if you cancel your membership within the first 60 days of being charged. If you have paid for an annual or multi-year membership and cancel after the initial 60-day period, you may be eligible for a prorated refund for the remaining time left on your subscription.

To request a refund, follow these steps:

  1. Contact Clear customer service: Call 855-253-2763 or email memberservices@clearme.com to initiate the refund process.
  2. Provide your account information: Have your account details ready, as you may need to verify your identity and provide the reason for your refund request.
  3. Follow Clear’s instructions: Clear will guide you through the necessary steps to process your refund.

It’s important to note that Clear will issue refunds on payments up to 30 days after the transaction has occurred, but only when you are canceling your subscription.

Handling Your Biometric Data

After canceling your Clear membership, you can request that Clear removes any personal information they maintain about you from their databases, including your biometric data. Clear allows you to request the deletion of your data, and they will honor this request, except for retaining limited information to comply with your request not to be contacted in the future.
