How to Cancel In-Shape Membership Step-by-Step




If you are looking to cancel your In-Shape membership, you have several options available. It is important to note that In-Shape requires a 30-day notice prior to the desired cancellation effective date. Here are the steps you can follow to cancel your membership:

  1. Online Expedited Cancellation Request:
    • The preferred and quickest method is to visit the In-Shape website and click on the “Cancel Membership” link. This will guide you through the cancellation process.
  2. In-Shape App:
    • If you have access to the In-Shape mobile app, you can submit a cancellation request through it by following these steps:
      • Log in to the app.
      • Tap on “Profile.”
      • Select “Manage Membership.”
      • Choose “Cancel Membership” and follow the prompts.
  3. Sending a Letter via First-Class Mail:
    • You can also send a cancellation request letter to In-Shape Member Services at the following address: 6507 Pacific Ave 344, Stockton, CA 95207. Make sure to include your membership number and other relevant details in the letter.
  4. In-Person at a Physical In-Shape Club:
    • If you prefer a face-to-face approach, you can visit an In-Shape club in person to initiate the cancellation process. It is advisable to call the club beforehand to confirm the procedure.

Additionally, if you need help finding your membership number, you can visit the In-Shape website and click on the “Need help finding your membership number?” link.

It is important to mention that there is no specific cancellation fee mentioned for In-Shape memberships. However, any prorated membership fees and charges owed for the remaining 30-day cancellation period, as well as any unpaid balances, must be settled by the end of the notice period.

Putting your In-Shape membership on hold is also an option if you do not want to cancel it entirely. After 30 days of active membership, you can request to have your membership placed on hold for up to six months. At the end of the hold period, your membership will be reinstated, and monthly charges will resume automatically.

To put your membership on hold, you can use the In-Shape app or Member Hub and follow these steps:

  • Tap the menu in the top-left and select “Profile.”
  • Choose the “Membership Holds” option.
  • Select “Place Membership on Hold.”
  • Provide the reason for the hold, start and end dates, and select “Next.”
  • Review the hold details and select “Process Hold Request.”
  • You will receive a confirmation number, and an email will be sent to the address on file.
