Canceling Your Village Gym Membership
1. Review Your Membership Agreement
Before initiating the cancellation process, review the terms and conditions of your membership agreement. This document outlines the notice period, cancellation fees, and any exceptional circumstances that may apply. Understanding these details will help you navigate the process smoothly.
2. Provide Notice
To cancel your Village Gym membership, you must provide written notice to the Member Services Team. The standard notice period is one paid calendar month for all membership types. This means your membership will terminate at the end of the month following the notice period.
You can submit your cancellation notice by:
- Calling the Member Services Team
- Sending an email to memberservices@village-hotels.com
- Submitting a request online (if available)
Be sure to include your reason for cancellation and the requested termination date.
3. Pay Outstanding Fees
Ensure that all outstanding fees, including membership fees and any applicable administration fees, are paid in full before canceling your membership. Any unpaid fees may delay or invalidate your cancellation request.
4. Update Contact Information
Remember to provide Village Gym with your up-to-date contact details, including your postal address, email address, and telephone number. This will ensure you receive any necessary communications regarding your cancellation.
Requesting a Refund
If you’ve recently signed up for a Village Gym membership and wish to cancel within the cooling-off period, you may be eligible for a refund. Here’s what you need to know:
Cooling-Off Period
Village Gym offers a 7-day cooling-off period from the date of joining. During this time, you can cancel your membership and receive a refund of your membership fee and any additional amounts paid, minus an administration fee and the cost of any fitness services already supplied.
Cancellation After the Cooling-Off Period
If you wish to cancel your membership after the cooling-off period, you may be subject to a cancellation fee. The amount of the fee depends on the remaining time on the minimum term of your agreement. If more than 6 months remain, the cancellation fee is $195.00, and if less than 6 months remain, the fee is $145.00.
Requesting a Refund
To request a refund, you must provide 14 days’ written notice to terminate your membership. This notice must be handed in person to a Village Gym staff member on a completed “Cancellation Form” obtained from the reception desk. Cancellation requests over the phone or via fax will not be accepted.
